Here is part of the text of Dr. Dozier's email about the new Sepsis Bundle and Protocol:
We as anesthesiology are involved and must continue the protocol for any septic patient we get from the ER or the ICU or anywhere for that matter. Ideally, the ER doc or ICU doc would give us handoff as to where the patient is on the timeline of the bundle (3hr mark vs 6 hr mark). There are key labs and volume resuscitation goals that need to be hit to stay in the guidelines.
I am working on getting this added to the timeout for patient pick up and drop off wherever that may be. Let me know if you have any questions.
